Places To Visit In South Nashville
When we take a family vacation, I like to be prepared. We are planning a trip to South Nashville, and I recently looked into some of the best things to do in the area. Read on for more information.
1. Opry Mills Mall
I enjoy shopping, and my husband does not. However, this mall seemed like a good compromise. It’s the largest outlet center in the area, but it also has a Dave & Busters (which my entire family loves) and often has local bands playing as well.
2. Main Street Festival
We are heading to Nashville in the spring, so The Heritage Foundation’s Main Street Festival is on our list. It takes place on April 29th and 30th and features live music on two stages. There is also a kid zone with inflatables as well as huge arts and crafts show.
3. The Parthenon
The Parthenon was modeled after its namesake in Greece. Located in Centennial Park, it is an art museum and charges a reasonable price of $64 for adults and $4 for children.
4. Adventure Science Center
For the kids, we’ll check out the Adventure Science Center, which has interactive displays like a face-altering photography booth. It’s close to downtown Nashville, but it seems like something both of my kids will enjoy. The price is a little steeper than the Parthenon, but a day at the museum is always a good day for my family.
I’m not ashamed to admit that one of my favorite things about going on vacation is all the yummy food that we get to try! One restaurant on the list is South, a bar and restaurant with a southern menu that is located close to Music Row. The menu looks incredible; you can start with fried pickles or beer cheese and move on to burgers, chicken tenders, or a bayou wrap, among other things. It’s right up my alley.
Once I have an idea of what we are doing, it is easy to get excited about one of our upcoming trips. Heading to South Nashville should be a lot of fun for the entire family; it is something my husband has wanted to do for some years. I feel like our plans are just about complete, but I still want to see if any of my family or friends has visited the area and had any recommendations for us.
