The connection to HRforYou rarely fails due to the password itself. In most cases, the blockage comes from an incorrect identifier format, an authentication URL entered directly into the browser, or an account that has never been activated on the HR side. Here, we detail the technical points that generate the most support tickets and the concrete ways to resolve them.
Authentication URL and redirection: the most underestimated source of blockage
The HRforYou portal relies on a redirection chain between the employer address (such as hr4you.auchan.fr) and an intermediate authentication server. Entering the technical authentication URL directly causes an error without the account actually being blocked.
The correct reflex is to always go through the main portal provided by the employer. It is the one that triggers the redirection to the sign-on page. A bookmark pointing to the intermediate URL (the one that contains /idp/SSO or /auth/) should therefore be deleted.
We recommend saving only the address provided by the HR service during onboarding in the browser’s favorites. On this subject, a detailed procedure is available on the Les Entreprenautes website and HRforYou connection, which also covers the steps for password recovery.
HRforYou identifier format: employee number or email address
The identifier format depends on the settings decided by the employer, not the employee’s choice. In some groups, it is the employee number. In others, it is the full professional email address. Entering one when the system expects the other systematically returns a generic error message (“incorrect identifier”), without specifying the nature of the problem.

Before any attempt to reset the password, we recommend checking which format is recorded. Two methods:
- Check the initial activation email received upon hiring, which explicitly mentions the expected login.
- Contact the HR service or internal IT support directly to confirm the format associated with the account.
A point often overlooked: the “forgot password” procedure only works if the entered identifier matches the recorded format. Initiating this procedure with the wrong format does not trigger any reset email, which wrongly leads to the belief that the account does not exist.
Account activation after hiring: an administrative delay to anticipate
Access to HRforYou is not automatically created upon signing the contract. Account activation requires manual intervention from human resources, which occurs after the administrative onboarding. A new hire attempting to connect on their first day may therefore encounter a perfectly normal access denial.
The delay between signing and actual activation varies by organization. There is no standard. We observe that most tickets opened by new employees concern precisely this waiting window.
The best practice: explicitly ask the HR service for the expected activation date, rather than multiplying connection attempts that end up triggering a temporary account lock.
Connecting from a personal device or smartphone
There is not necessarily an official HRforYou mobile application. Access from a smartphone goes through the browser and the URL provided by the employer. Confusing an Auchan application (or any other brand app) with the HRforYou portal is a common mistake that leads to unrelated pages.
From a personal device or phone, the connection may require two-factor authentication. A temporary code is then sent via email or SMS depending on the account configuration. Two points to check if this step is blocked:
- Are the recovery phone number or email address recorded in the HR profile still up to date?
- An active VPN or a public Wi-Fi network may interfere with the two-factor authentication mechanism. Testing on 4G/5G helps isolate this factor.

Browser and cache: technical checks before calling support
Before contacting support, three actions resolve most display errors or connection loops:
Clear the browser cache and cookies. Expired HRforYou sessions sometimes remain stored locally and cause an infinite redirection loop.
Test in a private browsing window. If the connection works in private browsing but not in normal mode, the problem comes from a browser extension (ad blocker, password manager) that interferes with the authentication form.
Update the browser. SaaS HR portals regularly drop support for older versions. A browser that hasn’t been updated for several months can cause silent JavaScript errors on the login page.
The HRforYou support can be reached via the email address or phone number provided by the employer. Providing the exact error message, the browser used, and the type of device (professional or personal) significantly speeds up ticket processing.
